COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark brown ale is slightly sweet with a caramel and dark fruit finish. A show case of fine English malts, floor malted the old way. We use pale, chocolate, and crystal malts to produce a complex, but easy drinking dark ale. Very reminescent of northern English ales.

Meh. Pours light brown with small white head. Scent is slightly roasted but lacks complexity. Flavor is mild sweet and roasted. Writing more about this beer wouldn’t benefit anyone.

On tap during a dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s. Aroma has that English biscuit quality to go with mild chocolate notes. Flavor has more caramel than expected, some mild chocolate and biscuit notes holding it up. The food was better, but this went well with everything.

This was on tap at the Bald Head Island Club. It was quite good for a brown ale as it was smoother than most, with plenty of roasted malts. Cola colored with little head.

Bottle consumed with Carolina BBQ at the Charlotte airport. This is actually a damn fine brown ale. Smooth malty notes with brown sugar, nuts, and earthy sub-tones. Above average mouthfeel and body.....

A clear brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet nutty caramel malt with grassy character, roasted notes, OK. In mouth, nice roasted chocolate malt with grassy notes, light hops, not bad. Bottle from Courtyard Marriott Billy Graham, CLT.

Dark brown, cola color with thin head. Vert nice toasted nut aroma. Nice slightly sweet nut flavor with no bitterness. Medium/light body with thin but lively mouthfeel.

12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe’s Chapel Hill Ar: Moderately roasty aroma with notes of dark caramel and chocolate. Ap: Pours a very dark brown with a 1" frothy manila head that leaves decent lace. T: Very strong sweetish chocolate flavor up front, with a bit of dark caramel. Finish is roasty with a mild-medium bitterness. P: Medium-thick body, somewhat sticky. Milder carbonation. O: Pleasantly surprised by this one. This is a solid brown.

Beautiful dark brown appearance. Aroma of malt and roast. Flavor is slightly roasted and malty, with a sour note and not a good sour note. Body was thin.

Taste is caramel malt sweet followed by notes of berry. Dry finish without a lot of lingering darkness or malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
