A nice seasonal ale bonused to me in a trade with Ucusty. Thanks David! It pours amber with a disappearing off white head. The aroma instantly makes me crave pumpkin pie like right now. Nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, (I know, redundant) The flavor is spicy and sweet. Nice balance. This is a good seasonal, much better than an Octoberfest. Obviously, this would pair well with a certain fall dessert.

Very nice on tap. Subtle spiced and I would say different from the crowd. The ale quality comes through, refreshing, golden color, modest head, faint pleasant fragrance

Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with faint traces ow wispy khaki head. Nose is a good delicate blend of nutmeg, allspice, coriander, and other pumpkin pie spices. The flavor follows suit very closely and adds hints of lavender and brown sugar. Medium body with a clean, not cloying finish. Very enjoyable pumpkin beer. And kick ass label to boot!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottled in August ’09. Pours a hazy brown/red with a good head. This smells great. Cinnamon, pumpkin, and it is not perfumey or overly sweet. The flavor is smooth and clean. Lots of pumpkin and adequate spices are present without being cloying. This is a rare example of how a pumpkin ale should be done. It focuses on pumpkin and has a decent blend of spices without being a cinnamon bomb or tasting like soda. This is almost as good as Cottonwood’s pumpkin ale.

On tap at Tyler’s Tap Room in Durham NC - pours a hazy orange with a thin head. Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. Taste of pumpkin, spices and malt. One of the better pumpkin ales I have had in a while but still not one of my favorite styles.

Having a pumpkin sampler night. Very nice aroma, smells just like pumpkin pie. Light brown top and light amber on bottom. Sweet, but balanced taste. On par with dogfish head pumpkin ale.
