COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This style originated in Belgium to compete with the pilsners from Czechoslovakia, Germany, and Poland. It is a fruity ale with very strong carbonation, with complex, spicy flavors like cloves.

I donít particularly care for the smell on this one, as it reminds me a little of bad cheese. The taste isnít bad; itís a little sweet and goes down easily.

Originally reviewed: 7/11/09. Had this on tap at a Brixx Pizza near Lake Norman. Came out a murky gold with a thin white head on top. No lacing at all. Smells of bananas, spices, yeast, and bread. The mouth is crisp and firm. Great feel. Flavor is pretty tame, but I like it. Big Belgian yeast smack that finishes slightly fruity and sour. This is pretty well done. Iím not the best expert on BPAs, but I liked this one.

Bottle. Pours a pale orangey amber with zero head. Looks like a glass of apple juice except for a few faint bubbles rising. Actually kind of smells like it too. Some pineapple and clove too. Flavor is clove, some pineapple, traces of Belgian yeast, touch of spiciness. Quite sweet, low bitterness. Mouthfeel is a bit heavy for how light this beer is. Not a big fan.

Had this beer out of a pint glass...pours a nice blonde color ...has a smell of yeast and fruits ...no head and little lacing....has an unbalanced taste of yeast, malts and very little hops some clove and other spices are present ...but there is just something very overpowering in this beer the aftertaste is horrible in my opinion ...over all if you like this style of beer my hats off to ya its a brew you either love or hate and in my case I wont have this again just not worth the price although I may try other styles from big boss because its local to me....cheers

Rich aroma has fruity, clove, malt and yeasty notes - it smells almost like unbaked bread but with an earthy hint. It pours a clear golden with a fairly typical white head that leaves some decent lacing. Flavor - such flavor, a malty core; strong yeasty and fruity notes, the latter mainly pear plus a touch of banana; earthy and clove hints. Smooth, firm texture has plenty of fizz and sass, leaving a fruity, yeasty and rather tingly finish. This Belle is a heavenly brew!

Bottle. Poured hazy, mandarin-orange, with an initially fizzy head that boils up into a cumulous-cloud of poofy foam. The aroma is quite full of yeast and citrus blossoms. Despite that hint, the initial sip is a little shier than that ... easy to drink, mellow, and just lightly impacted by a subtle tropical fruit essence. For a 7% beer, this is terribly light and easy to drink, dangerous indeed. (#4407, 12/18/2011)

recíd via trade with Brentk; THANKS! not sure this is really a belgian ale? pours pale orange. aroma/flavors are hard to peg; some funk in it for lack of better description - again, not a beligan ale; pilsner?

Bottle from Bruisiní Ales. Pours blond with a thin white head. Big scent of pineapple on the nose was a bit off-putting. Not much of that Belgian yeasty thing on the tongue. A bit of pineapple on the tongue which lasts longer then I would like.

A: The beer pours a clear golden color with a thin white head. S: A fairly light nose. There is a decent amount of banana along with some sugar and pears, maybe a bit of sweet apples. A little bit of yeast, bread, and spice. T: Lightly spiced with some sweet bread and sugar. There are mild fruit notes, mostly some banana with a little bit of pear and apple. There is just a little bit of straw, some light spices, too. M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation. O: Not bad, but sort of bland and muddled.
