iowaherkeye (1444), relocated to Santa Rosa f/Iowa, California, USA Jul 14, 2008 12oz bottle, notched on May (bottled on, 2008) thanks to TURDFERGUSON, thank you! Lightly hazy orange caramel with a ring of white head. Pears, apricots, and a bit of apples. Fruity. Cotton candy and spicy yeasty esters are also present. Flavor actually got a bit more fruity, but seemed a bit off somehow. Peach pits show up in the flavor, and it’s a big friggin’ fruit cocktail. Semi-dry finish with bitterness peaking around a 1 to 2. Pretty low carbonation with a medium body. Too much sweet and overripened fruit is going on here, though it wasn’t bad, by any means.
fonefan (6153), Ulfborg, Denmark Jan 7, 2009 Bottle 355ml.
Light light unclear medium yellow color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, moderate yeasty, chees, barnyard. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20081004] mwelsh13 (263), Maryland, USA Jan 6, 2009 12 oz bottle pours medium yellow with a wispy head. Aroma is sweet and slightly yeasty. Initial taste is a bit bitter. Then there is a sweetness and slight pepper. Thin body but drinkable. Not bad. Strykzone (1116), Wood River, Illinois, USA Dec 12, 2008 Thanks Turdferguson. Pours a semi clear honey gold with a hint of orange tint. Small white head does not last long and ends in a ring. Nose is fruity, yeasty, and sweet spice. Feel is quite zesty but somewhat watery. Flavor is full of clove and sugar with warming alcohol. Fruit, yeast, and some earthiness. Finish is pepper spice. An interesting and decent beer. GeneralGao (2726), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Dec 12, 2008 12oz bottle from nearbeer. Thanks! Bottled September 2008. Poured a hazy medium orange-brown color. The head was white and reduced relatively quickly to a thin film. Smelled of brown sugar, light clove, and butterscotch. Medium bodied and delicately sweet with light unexpected acidity. Possibly a bad bottle? Tasted of tart apricot, subdued brown sugar, and a splash of white vinegar. mgumby10 (1662), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA Dec 12, 2008 Pours a lightly hazy gold orange, with a light off white head. Holy shit, smells atrocious! Kind of like old ketchup and candy sugar mixed together for 2 weeks in the sun. Well, the flavor aint much better. Just a crappy Belgian style brew from an American brewer. Overdone candy sugar and funky notes. Way too sweet, and undercarbonated. Horrific.
