Commercial Description:
This style originated in Belgium to compete with the pilsners from Czechoslovakia, Germany, and Poland. It is a fruity ale with very strong carbonation, with complex, spicy flavors like cloves.

Very nice traditional Belgian style aroma that’s definitely the high point of this beer. Slightly fruity and floral and maybe a bit grassy. Notes of lemon or some sort of citrus. A little thin on the palate and finishes with a funky tartness. Not bad, not fantastic, but at least it’s pretty cheap.

12 oz bottle pours medium yellow with a wispy head. Aroma is sweet and slightly yeasty. Initial taste is a bit bitter. Then there is a sweetness and slight pepper. Thin body but drinkable. Not bad.

Thanks Turdferguson. Pours a semi clear honey gold with a hint of orange tint. Small white head does not last long and ends in a ring. Nose is fruity, yeasty, and sweet spice. Feel is quite zesty but somewhat watery. Flavor is full of clove and sugar with warming alcohol. Fruit, yeast, and some earthiness. Finish is pepper spice. An interesting and decent beer.

12oz bottle from nearbeer. Thanks! Bottled September 2008. Poured a hazy medium orange-brown color. The head was white and reduced relatively quickly to a thin film. Smelled of brown sugar, light clove, and butterscotch. Medium bodied and delicately sweet with light unexpected acidity. Possibly a bad bottle? Tasted of tart apricot, subdued brown sugar, and a splash of white vinegar.

Pours a lightly hazy gold orange, with a light off white head. Holy shit, smells atrocious! Kind of like old ketchup and candy sugar mixed together for 2 weeks in the sun. Well, the flavor aint much better. Just a crappy Belgian style brew from an American brewer. Overdone candy sugar and funky notes. Way too sweet, and undercarbonated. Horrific.
