CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 21, 2008 Growler: Pours a transparent orange bronze with a frothy, nicely-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh citrusy hops and nice lightly sweet caramel malt. Body starts semi-sweet with a big, fresh grapefruity hoppy balance before a crisp, bittersweet finish. A very nicely hopped IPA. OldGrowth (1282), Cary, North Carolina, USA Apr 4, 2008 Pints at brewery and later from growler. Good aroma, bitter. Grassy, lemon, little mealy around edges. Hazed brownish orange color. Big head on pints from brewpub, small head at home from growler, though with a more vigorace pour got better results. Got that reverse bubble thing going on. Bitter flavor. Has real bite. like aroma. Has some soapiness about it. Very rindy, grapefruit & lemon. Seemed a bit better at pub. Kind of on the english side of the IPA spectrum. wasn’t a jaw droppin brew, but solid. Very enjoyable.
