2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
11/28/13. 12oz bottle snagged before I left Asheville. Hazy light amber orange with a small khaki head that I had to force and itís gone fast. Mild aroma, earthy hops, dark sugars, mehhh. Malty flavor, earthy, almost no hop. Meh.

Poured from the bottle. Aroma is a nice mix of malt and hop bitterness. Get some citrus fruits, but nothing stands out. Color is a nice orange with sizable white head. Flavor has a strong malt flavor, with minor hop bitterness. The bitterness does linger a bit on the tongue. Would prefer more hop flavor up front.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy orange. In fact, thereís some actual solids floating around the beer. Thatís a bit off-putting unless itís a friendís batch. Smells grassy with a yeasty overtone. Taste is grapefruit, lemon, grass clippings, and pine, with the latter dominating the finish. Slight bitterness which lingers on the tongue. Intriguing beer that is let down by the appearance.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to Frank for the bottle. Aroma was citrusy hops, lemon and grapefruit. Amber appearance. Flavor was the same citrus in the nose. Balanced by the malt, which came through a little. Finished extra dry. Very refreshing and easy to drink.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz Bottle. The pour was a murky burnt orange with an average (1-2 finger) white frothy head that slowly diminished, reducing to a medium puddled film and medium collar with very good sheets of lacing.
The aroma was of a grain malt, floral and grassy hops and a soapy yeast with notes of caramel, citrus (grapefruit and orange peel) and a light fruity ester (pineapple I believe).
The taste was lightly malty-sweet with a touch of caramel and a good fruity presence from the start, progressing into a slightly bitter hoppy taste with a hint of grapefruit and a seriously bitter citrus peel ending. The flavor lingered on the taste buds for a good long while, with the bitter citrus peel taste hitting you right in the back of the throat.
Mouthfeel was a few steps beyond light in body and dry in texture with a solid medium carbonation.
Overall this is a nice fruity, bitter IPA that I found to be balanced very well, making it a smooth and easy to drink brew...

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep golden color out of the bottle with a thin off white head. Hoppy nose with lots of resin and grassy notes. The flavors continue the hop dominance with lots of grass, bitter grapefruit and resin. Enough of a malt balance the hops, but just barely. Long grassy hop finish.
