ilovedarkbeer (937), Dallas, Texas, USA Apr 20, 2008 Nice lacing and head retention on this one. Copper body and a nose of something sweet, fruity (grapes), and malt. Taste is sweet and slightly bitter. It is nice to see an amber ale that does not rely on hops as its backbone. Actually quite nice and drinkable.
travita (915), Lewisville, Texas, USA Dec 21, 2008 Light red in color and clear with pretty much no head. Taste is light with a hop and malt balance. Thin and bland. Smell is some grains and hops. Not that good. BMan1113VR (1321), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Apr 19, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Clear amber colored ale with some nice sheets of lacing. Sweet coppery and malty taste. Syrupy mouthfeel. popephred (152), Plainfield, Illinois, USA Jul 7, 2007 Poured from tap into pint glass. Produced a clear amber body with a small off-white quickly diminishing head. From first pour, the ale had no discernible nose, yet nothing offensive. Slightly bitter, this was a balanced brew with average hops and malt, producing a clean flavor. Not too shabby. fiulijn (6142), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jan 6, 2007 Draught at the brewpub
Hazy amber color. Both the aroma and the flavor show some sugar, and of course some caramel taste; the mouthfeel is quite dry, because of the medium-high bitterness. Simple.
