Overall, a very decent pale lager. I enjoyed this one, but probably would not get it again given the other options Big Buck has. Worth a try, but like I said, Big Buck has much better beers.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Silphium (2718) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUL 7, 2007
On tap at the Gaylord, MI location. Clear straw body, medium off-white head. Light biscuity, floral aroma. Crisp herbal, floral hops bite balanced by light bready malt. Kind of bland but inoffensive with no serious flaws.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 jazz88 (2395) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 13, 2006
Tap @ Brewpub with Nuffield. Rating from 2004 notes. Yellow color with a white head. An odd cider like aroma. A natural lager flavor that feels less processed than expected.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Dogbrick (4828) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 11, 2006
Sample at the Gaylord location: Clear yellow-gold color with a medium thin white head and spotty lacing. Light malt and hops in the nose. Thin, fizzy body with hops and corn flavors. The finish is vaguely hoppy and does not linger much. Pretty forgettable.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - AUG 17, 2006
5 oz draught sample at the Gaylord, MI location, July 2006. Just faintly darker than the "Naked Light", thinish with little head....corn sugar and corn husks in the corny cornpone aroma....very sweet, full mouthfeel, clean and pretty juicy with a bit of mineral saltiness late, more hops (English-y earthy) than I’d expect....average carbonation and surprisingly bitter, dry finish. Not at all bad.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 SubstanceT (1092) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 26, 2006
On tap at the brewery in Gaylord Michigan.
<!-- p -->Darker yellow than Buck Naked Ligh with a bubbly head. Some carbonation and the nose and taste stronger with hops and grains. It was listed as an ’American Wheat’ but I wasnt getting much wheat.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Pailhead (3435) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - FEB 9, 2005
On tap: Weak malt aroma similar to the Buck Naked. Transparent light gold with a white head. Lightly sweet with a light hop finish. Pretty standard compared to other Kolschs (according to my sampler menu) I’ve had and I’m not a big fan of the style.
