Dogbrick (2427), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 11, 2006 Sample at the Gaylord location: This brew is a reddish-amber color with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing. Toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a pretty standard malt flavor and not much else. The finish is soft and malty, with a lingering bitterness afterward. So-so. Silphium (2061), Lansing, Michigan, USA Aug 20, 2006 On tap at the Gaylord (MI) location. Slightly hazy amber body, medium off-white/light tan head. Light cerealy aroma, with toast and grape. Toasty body with a sweet, cerealy finish, grassy with sweetness imparted by Munich malts. Earthy. muzzlehatch (4429), Burlington, Vermont, USA Aug 17, 2006 5 oz draught sample at the Gaylord, MI location, July 2006. Dark amber with a touch of retained head and a bit of lacing....toasty malty-sweet nose offers a bit of baked apple as it warms....dry and rather dull body, a bit of cidery sweet-tartness as you go through it but really very little to glom onto. Words fail me as the beer did.... SubstanceT (1087), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Jun 26, 2006 On tap at the brewery in Gaylord Michigan.
