Dogbrick (2144), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 20, 2008 Sample at the Rancho Dr brewpub. This is a blend of 2 Big Dog beers I didn’t really care for, so here goes. The beer is a clear amber color with a medium thin and creamy light beige head that diminishes slowly. Spotty lacing. Malt and floral hops aroma. Medium-bodied with flavors of hops, citrus and malt. The finish is evenly hoppy/malty with neither flavor lingering long. As with each of the beers used in the blend, this one is just average overall.
mjg74 (1718), La Mesa, California, USA Apr 20, 2008 Tap @ cafe. Dark amber/brownish in appearance. Good maltiness balanced with a little bit of a hop bite. Pretty well balanced. jcwattsrugger (3724), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jan 10, 2008 on tap-pours an off white head that laces and deep amber color. Aroma is citrus hops, medium malt. Taste is citrus hops, lots of medium malt backbone-some nutty/chocolate. pint_size (910), Austin, Texas, USA Dec 31, 2007 12-1-07 tap
Clear light amber color with ok head. Subtle smell of malt and maybe some hops. Slight sweetness to the flaovr. Gets more bitter as it warms. Not horrible. lb4lb (1232), Austin, Texas, USA Dec 6, 2007 Light reddish amber color with a smell of nicely balancing sweet malt and simple nondescript hops. Decent balanced flavor as well, but characteristically thin for the place. Lasting mild bitterness. I don’t know how mixing an Irish Ale and an American Pale Ale makes this an American Strong Ale, but oh well... Decent but unremarkable beer.
