COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rich, dark ale is brewed with nine different malts along with roasted barley. It has old-world appeal for stout overs everywhere and is distinguished by hints of coffee and cocoa.

Sampler at Big Dogs Brewing, Las Vegas. nitro. pours dark brown, roasted malts, with notes of cocoa. Taste had amazing roast notes, some light chocolate and traces of cocoa nibs.

Nice malt aroma and a big brown head. Beer had big body and excellent roasted, coffee taste. Beer is nitrogen carbonated giving it that typical Guiness type mouthfeel. Best of the beers I tried.

Sampler at Big Dog’s Brewery. Nice dark color, slight roast and coco in the sip. Too watery for me throught the sip for this style. I would have guessed "Porter" on a blind test.

A: The pour is a nice dark brown with the usual creamy, off-white head from the nitro pour. S: The nose is chocolatey (primarily dark chocolate) with some hints of coffee and roasted malt. Perhaps a bit of molasses in there as well. T: The flavor is not quite as muted as you often find with beers served on nitrogen. Good roast and smooth, creamy chocolate flavor. The coffee is subtle and in the background. M: The mouthfeel is also quite creamy, though a bit watery at times. D: A nice stout from a brewery that I had never heard of/had any beers from before. I wouldn’t mind having a glass of this one again.

On nitro at PP Carlsbad, dark brown, creamy reverse nitro head. Roasted malt, chocolate... really not much going on here. Simple stout, nitro creaminess.

On tap at the brewery. The look of this beer is exactly what is should be. Dark black color with a cream colored 1in thick head. Smell was of roasted malt, coffee, and some bakers chocolate. Taste was about the same but a bit weak on the palate, in my opinion. Really the best beer there when I went but I wouldn’t make a special trip there just for this beer. Thier food was really awesome though.

Growler. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a small fast disappearing tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with some sweetish hints. Has a sweetish roasted malty chocolate finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

dark orange black pour with a soft nitro light brown head. the nose is roasty, a little smoky and has a touch of cocoa. take the characteristics in the aroma... add some coffee, toasted nuttiness and some ash and you get the flavor profile. it is heavy on the roast and malt while just a bit bitter. the body is medium. the mouth feel is creamy but a little watery from the nitrogen. 6/4/6/3/14/3.3

Sample at brew pub. Mild coco mix aroma. Black body with tan head. Roast in the flavor but mild. This sample was near the end of ten so it warmed abit and had a good creamy milk texture to it. Good beer.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2008 Nitro @ Cafe. Very dark in color upon pouring. Quite roasted and malty. This stout is on the bitter side, with a lot of roasted coffee.
