If you like your beer very strong and very hoppy, then this brew is for you! I.P.A.’s were originally brewed in London and shipped to British troops stationed in India.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2008 2008-09-08, draught at the brewpub in Rancho Drive, 8-4-8-5-16=41
Light amber color. The aroma is quite fruity and resiny. Good body, caramel flavor, sweet, with strong hopping, again giving a strong earthy character (manure...; it seems to be the brewer’s signature) and fruitness (grapefruit...). Very good.

2007-10-02, draught at Big Dog’s Cafe and Casino in W Sahara Ave., Las Vegas, 8-4-8-5-17=42
Brewed exclusively with Summit hop.

Orange copper color. Very nice hoppy aroma, fruity first, with pine needles too. Medium body strength, malt flavor with a lot of sweet toffee from the hops; very strong hopping, resiny and fruity (bitter oranges). Very good.

2006-03-27, draught at the brewpub in N Rancho Dr., Las Vegas, 9-4-9-5-18=45
Light amber color. Very nice fruity aroma (grapefruit, apricots…), pine needles. Full malty body, sweet, with a respectable amount of resins, fruitness, bitterness. Superb. My best draught beer in Las Vegas.

on tap-pours an off white head that laces and yellow/gold color. Aroma is citrus hops. Taste is bitter citrus hops-lemon/pine, secondary light malt-some caramel sweetness. OK carbonation.

too cold? bigger hops and bigger malt flavor, but not picking up the promise of the aroma or the wonder of the beer I had six months ago (after too many other stops that day, I confess), goes great with twice baked cajun wings

Date: January 03, 2006
Source: brewpub
Appearance: opaque rusty orange, frothy white head, nice lace
Aroma: huge sweet citrus aroma like sugar sprinkled on grapefruit
Flavor: sweet pine flavor with nice bitterness, the hop flavor saturates after a while until you need to scrape them off your tongue
Overall: back to greatness

inconsistancy is the way with this beer, still a good citrus and grapefruit character but not the special batch that shows from time to time, maybe it’s all about freshness and timing, later I found out it’s about getting the beer you order,

Draft. Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

On tap @ Big Dogs poured a hazy copper with a small diminishing ivory head. Aromas of orange, pink grapefruit, a hint of pine and light carmel with a lingering bitter finish.

Cloudy orange, very sharp and fresh hop flavor, like chewing on a hop pellet... a little gritty too. Musty, all hops and no balance... call this one a hop stew, but at least it’s not overdone.

On tap. One of their better beers. Clear amber golden body with a white head. Pine and slightly herbaceous aroma with some tropical fruits as well. Taste is tropical fruits, citrus and light table sugar. Medium bodied, well attenuated finish.

Sample at Chicago Brewing Co (they were out of their IPA, sampled at Big Dog’s later that day). This beer pours a clear yellow-amber color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Stringy lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and hops. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with pine and citrus hops flavors, plus a touch of malt. The finish is hoppy with a lingering grapefruit and hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sampled from a growler courtesy of kp: Hazy dark bronze pour has a well-lacing frothy white head. Fresh green citric hoppy aroma has some fruity sweet candy notes and earthiness. Starts sweet and candy-like with a sugary citrus hoppy presence. Not sure if I like the artificial candy flavor that these hops are causing here.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 12/20
DruncanVeasey (6950) - NUNEATON, Top 24, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 11, 2013
Big bottle, House of Blues, Las Vegas, 30/10/13 whilst the missus cat-napped. Coppery orange with a good tall weizen foam. Resiny aroma with forest floor aspects; peach iced tea, soap and juniper. Flavour is peppery with alcohol; brittle, simplistic and wood-like with fading peach and a hint of nut husk. The alcohol becomes abrasive with too little hop flavour to carry it. Couldn’t/didn’t finish.
