Assuming that this is the "raspberry brown"...Defined raspberry aroma. Copper-brown in color with a white head. Heavy raspberry puree flavor with some matly undertones.

Sample at Khoury’s (as Big Dogs Raspberry Brown). The beer pours a murky reddish-brown color with a medium off-white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of malt and raspberry. Light to medium body with flavors of roasted malt, raspberry and a bit of chocolate. The finish is mildly tart with a berry aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sampled at AZ Strong Beer Fest. Just wasn’t a fan of this one. Definitely get a lot of red ripe raspberries in this, particularly in the nose. The aroma is inviting but the flavors of raspberry and chocolate just don’t play well together on the tongue. Surprising, I know. Perhaps a heavier, more robust base beer would have lended itself better.

On tap at the AZ Strong Beer Fest, February 2011. Pours near black with a tan head. The nose is raspberries and light chocolate. The taste is raspberries with the chocolate coming through more and some faint coffee. You can really pick up the raspberries in this one. Medium bodied. Refreshing brew.

Tap at AZSBF.Pour is deep brown with a tan head. Aroma shows notes of tart raspberry and cocoa powder. Flavor shows pretty much the same. Pretty interesting.

Dark brown pour. Rich tan head. Chocolate covered raspberry cordials is all you need to know. Fun beer.

Sampler at Big Dog’s Brewery. Very interesting beer! Pronounced tart/sour raspberry throughout the sip. Very fruity, is a nice representation of the style.

A murky brown porter with a very thin moka head. In aroma, a smooth raspberry with light chocolate notes. In mouth, a smooth porter with raspberry jam, light lactic points, not bad. On tap at Big Dog Winterfest, Jan 29 2011.

This is a fine-looking beer. This is far and away the best fruit beer Big Dog’s has ever made. Smooth, not too sweet, a really nice slight sourness to it. I’d definitely buy this again. And it can be drank en masse.
