2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the brewery. The look is clear and amber with a minimal white head. Aroma was very weak and couldn’t pick out much more than some malty sweetness. Taste was ok but a little thin. Caught some notes of caramel and a light hop taste but mostly sweet. Not that great and won’t drink again.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I was really confused by this and the Scottish at the brewpub, but I'm now convinced that they had the taps reversed. I had already tasted the Scottish at a local beer fest and my notes for it more closely match the beer served to us as this). What they served to us as the Scottish has to be their Irish ale ... dark maroon with a cream-stout-like big white milky head. There's a smooth milky texture to go along with it. Sweet and malty. An OK beer. But the bartenders either have the beers confused, or they've made two beers coincidently completely out of style.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear and deep amber-red with intricate, lasting lace. Smooth carbonation was nice, but weight was kind of thin. Sweet notes of caramel, toffee, toast and a hint of sour milk. Bitterness was mild. Had a slight alcohol edge. Not too bad, but it didn’t seem to have a lot of personality.
