(Draught) Pours an opaque black body with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, lactose, anise, and brown sugar. Flavor of roasted malt, coffee, lactose, and chocolate with a dry, bitter finish.

Don’t know how I missed rating this. Creamy from the first sip. Very robust and flavorful. This one is good to go slow with, but it kind of lends itself that way. I think my wife if she rated beers, would give this about a 4.9. She’d get this in the middle of the summer I believe.

Black with a creamy tan head. Sweet chocolate aroma with notes of cherry. Tastes of dark chocolate burnt coffee and roasted grain. Quite good.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours with a black body and a lasting tan head. Aromas of licorice, chocolate, brown sugar, vanilla, anise and some esters. Flavors are of chocolate, dusty, roast, a bit tannic. Medium sweet mid palate but finishes dry with further notes of anise/licorice. Medium bubbles, full bodied and warming.

Sampled @ AZ Strong Beer Fest. Fairly run-of-the-mill impy stout showing chocolate, coffee bean, roasted malt, caramel and vanilla. Dark mahogany pour on this but a little thinner than I would have liked.

On tap at the AZ Strong Beer fest, February 2011. Pours near black with a thin tan head. The nose is chocolate and roast. The taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Medium mouthfeel. Pretty good.

Tap at AZSBF.Pour is deep brown/black with a beige head. Aroma shows notes of chocolate and roast malt. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of anise and a touch of coffee.

Dark brown, brown head. Sweet chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Flavor is a bit more toasty than most imp stouts, but still good. Nice hit of chocolate and espresso.

A deep dark stout with a a huge thick nitro dark brown head. In aroma, a faint sweet chocolate, with light coffee notes, alcohol warmth. In mouth, a smooth bitter chocolate with herbal notes, coffee beans, not bad. Balanced and smooth. On tap at Big Dog Winterfest, Jan. 29 2011.
