Draft at the Bistro DIPA Fest; Nose of citrus and pine hops; clear copper with a small beige head; flavor of citrusy hop bitterness, OK but not really good.

Draft. Hmm, estery, piney almost medicine like. This flavor overpowers everything else, there is a bit of grapefruit and lemon in there somewhere. Not good.

Pour is hazed dark golden with a thin sticky off white head...smell is strongly citrus....taste is sweet up front turning medium bitter...something seemed out of whack about this beer...citrus aftertaste...

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2007 2007-10-02, 8.3% ABV, draught at Big Dog’s Cafe and Casino in W Sahara Ave., Las Vegas, 8-4-9-5-18=44
Cloudy orange-copper color. Huge hoppy aroma, well balanced between fruits, resins and Brie cheese. Strong body, good malt flavor, a lot of sugars, huge caramel-toffee flavor, huge hopping, both resiny and fruity. Very long and strong final. Very powerful.

2006-03-27, 8.6% ABV, draught at the brewpub in N Rancho Dr., Las Vegas, 8-4-8-5-15=40
Light amber color. Fruity, malty, resiny, strong bitterness, but less complex than the Dirty Dog IPA. One of my best draught beers in Las Vegas.

Growler poured a clear amber with a small but lasting white head. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, oranges and a hint of carmel. Palate was medium bodied and dry. Flavors of grapefruit, orange and light carmel with a smooth, lingering bitter finish.

9th Annual San Diego Strong Ale Fest (ok I’m really slow with the ratings). Orangey pour. Big citrus grapefruit and some pine hop aromas, with a decent amount of sweet caramel malt to back. The sweetness in the malt made me think of honey. Lots of grapefruity hoppiness and sweet caramel malt for flavor, with a decent mouthfeel. Nice.

Just based on the pure amount of hops in this baby I would’ve put the alcohol at even higher than 8.6%. The bar was so smoky it was a little difficult to smell, but the rest of the beer was so great that I assume it was too. Hops, hops, hops is this beer. Wonderful, but of course, only for the true IPA fans.

Draft. Pours slightly hazy orange with a decent whtie, fluffy head. Big citrus and grapefruit aroma. Hops definitely dominates, a little candy sweetness at the end. Thin and astringent mouthfeel. This is one that I have had several times and I think gets better everytime.

Orange with a big thick head. Big citrus, grapefruit aroma and flavor. Got a bit of a soapy, creamy flavor on the finish but overall not bad.

9th Annual San Diego Strong Ale Fest: Hazy golden amber with a minimal off-white head. Nice fresh grapefruit hops. Caramel malt tries to show its head. Flavor is thick with grapefruit and caramel malt. Light bitterness. Pretty tasty beer.
