Growler acquired in trade with riversideAK (thanks!). Poured a deeper amberish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of some skunky herbs, caramel, earthy, and some citrus. Tastes of toasted caramel, lighter earthiness, and a lighter fruitiness. Light alcohol finish.

On tap at the brewery/brewpub. Pours clear deep copper with lasting frothy tan head. The mild aroma has spices and citrus and comes up pretty short for the style. It is smooth soft mild and subtle which describes brews of a tamer more gentle style. The flavor pushes across the palate pretty full in body bringing up soft notes, for the style, spicy hops and modestly tart grapefruit hops. It smoothes out even more to midway seeming dangerously drinkable. It closes with moderate levels of citrus and pine hop bitterness.

Draft at the brewpub. Caramel gold body with essentially no head at all. Very little nose, either--shocking for a DIPA. With the brewer standing there as we sampled it, he pointed out that the kick sneaks up on ya, but didnít seem in too much of a hurry to comment on huge body, flavor, or nose--and by DIPA standards, there isnít. The nose is very neutral and the mid-palate is subdued except for nice big piney notes, which persist to the finish. I could drink a bunch of this stuff, partly because itís so incognito on the way to the tongue.

Draft@ Ellersick. Clear amber with a frothy tan head. Very nice piney, floral hop aroma with sweet caramel. Frothy mouthfeel with light carbonation. Good balance of bittersweet floral and citrusy hops on a sweet toasted caramel malty base. Very good IPA, and by far the best beer from these guys.

Had on tap at Brouwers. Poured orange with a small head. Aroma was minimal for an imperial. It did have some caramel malt with a little hoppy funk. Flavor is a straight forward caramel matiness backed up by a bit of honey and some woody and herbal hops. Very drinkable, as at 9.5% this could be dangerous. A very enjoyable brew.

On draught at the brewery taproom in Lynnwood, Washington. Pours a clear golden amber brew with a creamy off-white head that has some nice retention and stick lacing. Aroma of fruity and roasted caramel malt, additional fruits of green apple, citrus zest and a little touch of herbal spice. Taste is full bodied, very light carbonation with a nice balance of green apple, caramel malt and some piney hops. Finish is semi-sweet, mildly bitter with a fine apple and caramel aftertaste. Only two pints allowed - Aww Man?!! Now I have to stop by again for another two pints.

Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a mostly clear amber color. Nose wasnít nearly as hoppy as I would have guessed - I got a lot of toasting and caramel in there, in addition to some herbiness. Taste had some toasting, and was slightly bitter. Decent, but nothing special.
