On draught at the brewery taproom in Lynnwood, Washington. Pours a clear golden amber brew with a creamy off-white head that has some nice retention and stick lacing. Aroma of fruity and roasted caramel malt, additional fruits of green apple, citrus zest and a little touch of herbal spice. Taste is full bodied, very light carbonation with a nice balance of green apple, caramel malt and some piney hops. Finish is semi-sweet, mildly bitter with a fine apple and caramel aftertaste. Only two pints allowed - Aww Man?!! Now I have to stop by again for another two pints.

Draft@ Ellersick. Clear amber with a frothy tan head. Very nice piney, floral hop aroma with sweet caramel. Frothy mouthfeel with light carbonation. Good balance of bittersweet floral and citrusy hops on a sweet toasted caramel malty base. Very good IPA, and by far the best beer from these guys.

Growler acquired in trade with riversideAK (thanks!). Poured a deeper amberish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of some skunky herbs, caramel, earthy, and some citrus. Tastes of toasted caramel, lighter earthiness, and a lighter fruitiness. Light alcohol finish.

Had on tap at Brouwers. Poured orange with a small head. Aroma was minimal for an imperial. It did have some caramel malt with a little hoppy funk. Flavor is a straight forward caramel matiness backed up by a bit of honey and some woody and herbal hops. Very drinkable, as at 9.5% this could be dangerous. A very enjoyable brew.

Pours golden orange color with a medium white head. Smells of citrus, apples and pine. Tastes the same as it smells with a slight tartness and hope bite. Mouthfeel is medium with light carbonation. Overall this is the best offering from Big E in my opinion.

On Tap at the brewpub. Light orange/amber color with a modest off-white head. Nice front of citrusy hop aroma. Big and hoppy and competes nicely with the modest malt backbone. Not quite brash and in-your-face for a DIPA but pretty big and ballanced. A drinkable Double.

Handfilled bottle from a growler courtesy of cbkschubert. Pours a deep copper color with still a decent head being hand bottled. Dissapates quickly with some lacing. Aroma is malty sweetness and slight hop aroma. Flavor is big hop though. Nice spiciness with a decent malt backbone to compliment. A decent 2ipa, I will have to check it out for myself when I go to the Seattle area for work in August. My company hq is right next to Lynnwood.

Amber hued golden body with a tall bubbly head. Mild citrus and pine with a muted tart apple note. A touch of herbal hop character and a pinch of spice. Freshly toasted malt backbone with light caramel sweetness and maybe a bit of honey. They were serious about the two pint limit; even after I explained to them that I was a certified Heavyweight.

Growler, filled at the brewpub - and I do mean filled. There was no headroom at all! Pours a clear dark copper with a thin white head. Medium body and light carbonation. Aroma of fruit, citrus and grass. Sweet taste of toffee, fruit, and citrus that gives way to a massive pine and grapefruit finish with an almost flowery note to it.
