FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 21, 2005 Updated: Jun 28, 2006A friend traveling through Montana brought this one home for me as part of a random selection of micros. I have never heard of the brewer before. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a bronze color with only a trace of a tan head. The aroma is moderate fruity hops and a bit of pepper. The flavor is moderate nutty malts with a moderate fruity hop undertone. The finish is sour and nutty. The mouthfeel is flat. I was not very impressed. rederic (1785), montréal, Quebec, Canada Nov 15, 2005 Bright amber color, with a beige head, biscuity, caramelized malt, nutty aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a grainy, toasty pale malt, crystal malt, even a pea note, leading towards a good hop bitterness finish. MarkoR (224), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 3, 2005 Amber looking ale with a good taste. Surprise to see that it’s not really a made in Ontario beer. Malty aroma. Medium body. Radek Kliber (3912), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Oct 16, 2005 This is neat amber looking ale with medium creamy tan head . Aroma of sweet malts accented by grassy bitter hops. Refreshing . Medium bodied , toasted malt with rounded bitters . Very drinkable. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Oct 12, 2005 Pours slightly dark amber with decent tan head. Bready malt aroma with some faint hops. Flavor is all malty roastiness up front, with some decent bittering hops in the finish. Has that musty English hop presence to it. Decent overall. Damage (77), London, Ontario, Canada Oct 10, 2005 Found this one on sale at the LCBO so I thought what better chance to try a new beer out? Pours a bit redder than your average pale ale with a frothy head. Toasty oats and caramel nose with a hint of berry. Well hopped flavour, nicely bitter to an even finish. A very nice Ontario micro! (650ml bottle) asheft (1374), Marburg, Germany Sep 16, 2005 [bottle from LCBO]
Almost clear, pale ale colour but a bit on the red side. Thin patchy, ringy head. Pine and toffee malt aroma that is not too aggressively hopped. Spicy melanoidiny flavour with pine hops and some sour-ish fruit accents followed by a medium bitterness. Medium body and a bit too much carbonation. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 13, 2005 Headstrong, I’ll take you on. Rich, slightly cloudy amber colour. Floral hops and toasty malts, slight steeliness in the initial sips, some butter and . Reminiscent of a genuine British bitter. Would probably be very good on tap, as it’s a bit gassy from the bottle. Overall, a good-tasting beer that packs a bit of punch.
