Good hoppy nose with roasty and spicy hints. Taste may lack some strenght and complexity, but it ends with a lovely long bitter finish. Less than one week after moving to the Ottawa area, this is my first step into Ontario’s micro-brewing world and it just makes me looking forward for more! | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 31, 2005 Bottle (650ml). Poured murky orange-amber with a big, foamy, creamy, off-white, long-lasting head. Aroma of fresh hops, lots of citrus (more orange than grapefruit), good balance, very appealing. Taste is fairly mild, decent blend of juicy hops and sweet-citrus malt, but a bit of a metallic tang there - starts nominally sweet, finishes slightly bitter. Average mouthfeel, could be a bit more carbonated. Eminently drinkable beer, a bomber goes down quick and easy. ryananderson (74), Ontario, Canada
