Notes of caramel in the aroma but none in the taste, which is decently hopped and has a nice grapefruit flavor. Oily palate but quite carbonated. Very refreshing. It’s an okay summer brew, especially since I don’t need to go too far out of my way to get it. Blasphemies (45), Ontario, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 14, 2004 Very flavorful pale ale is dominated by the maltiness, but the malt flavor is only moderately pleasing; Mild hops bitterness has presence from start to finish, but while the beer is malty at first, the finish is much more balanced; Has a sweet aroma that is vaguely reminiscent of whiskey; Amber in color and slightly hazy; Significant carbonation bubbles initially completely cease within a minute or two; Large, tan head dissipates fairly quickly but leaves lacing that is dense with large holes like swiss cheese
