Good hoppy nose with roasty and spicy hints. Taste may lack some strenght and complexity, but it ends with a lovely long bitter finish. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 12, 2005 Bottle: Very malty aroma that is loaded with buttered caramel and only light hops. Pours a very hazy dark amber with a small white head. Malty up front with a light hop finish. Caramel constantly lingers in the background from start to finish. Because of so much malt, this beer needs a stronger hop balance to it. Ported (67), Ontario, Canada

Pours a light copper colour with a very generous tan head. The nose of this beer is largely citrusy hops with some very slight brown sugar notes. The taste is immediately hoppy which stays that way for awhile then peters out into a nice smooth caramel finish. Very good beer, with a nice mouthfeel. garthicus (1354), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
