austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA May 6, 2008 Can from Summerhill LCBO in Toronto. Tastes like total shite. Is there no beer in Toronto this week that I will enjoy?!? The state of brewing here truly is a cause for concern. Far more bitter than I expected from the English Pale Ale style - more of an American Pale Ale, IMHO.
JRHBrew (176), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada Sep 26, 2008 Well it’s about time NB Liquor got something in from south of the border that wasn’t swill. This 473ml can poured a golden colour with a thin lasting head. There is a nice floral almost garden aroma that lingers over the malt presence. The flavour is somewhat crippled by the minute toastiness which comes off at first like a stale taste and only presents itself somewhat properly mid-glass. Beershine (1440), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 20, 2008 Draught at Beer Bistro. Coppery color, with nice white head. Nice, well-balanced, and well-integrated hops. Hop makes itself known in a lingering finish. Fruity body keeps it sturdy. Silky mouthfeel. Notes from can: the sweetness of the grain is more apparent. mullet2007 (126), Newfoundland, Canada Sep 19, 2008 Pours a remarkably clear deep golden to amber colour with a thick foamy white head. Nose is nice British smelling hops, with a hint of sweet caramel malts. Flavour is pleasantly bitter, but not really hoppy. It’s got some nice malts underneath, but the bitterness is what jumps out at you right away. It’s pretty well balanced really. It’d be a nice session ale. Carbonation is perhaps a bit sharp for an English pale ale, but it is fairly creamy. Nice beer. dwyerpg (2094), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 14, 2008 A nice light hop aroma. A pale citrus flavor. Some dryness in the finish. A bit thin but decent. Pretty good. Strykzone (1021), Wood River, Illinois, USA Sep 12, 2008 Very nice looking beer is lightly cloudy and similar in appearance to an apple cider. Nice 2 finger creamy off white head. Thick lacing! Aroma is deliciously floral with some grapefruit but it is generally sweet. Despite appearances this is somewhat thin in the feel. A unique hop profile is floral and grassy with some orange. Nice caramel malts. Mildly bitter. One of those beers that was great until tasting it. Still was enjoyable.
