RaphaelN (168), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada May 10, 2007 Bottle from LCBO courtesy of my girlfriend’s father. Poured somewhat hazy into an english pint. Smell is of floral grapefruits and malt. Mouthfeel was medium and bursting with hops. But not the kind I like. I feel this ale is unbalanced, and the bitterness is quite uncomfortable. Won’t be drinking again.
Spab (77), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 3, 2009 473 ml can. Pours a clear slightly yellowish gold with good white head. Nice floral hoppy aroma with a hint of sweet malts. Flavour is sweet with notes of fruit, citrus and grass. Somewhat bitter finish. Decent session ale. sinkhole (134), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 24, 2008 Pours copper with an excellent thick creamy white head. Aromas of hops and caramel malts. Tastes of meduim strong bitter hops with a touch of sweet caramel malt and a hint of citrus fruit.
Good bitter finish that does not last too long. Above average Pale Ale.
Nekronos (2027), Xalapa, Mexico Oct 24, 2008 I don’t know what’s the deal with the two HEadstrong being in different breweries, but anyway, the taste is superb. It is like a Belgian strong ale but with the Canadian touch. rodenbach99 (504), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada Oct 20, 2008 canette de 500ml, bière passablement pale pour une pale ale, blonde presque avec une légère teinte cuivrée, nez agréable, bouche qui a une touche métallique, j’aime mieux les bouteilles PaulHegedus (188), Brampton, Ontario, Canada Oct 15, 2008 500ml Can. Pours golden, well carbonated with a strong head: aromas of pine in the hops with orange, grass and a hint of sweet grapefruit. The flavour is more one dimensional: sweet with a hop kick, lemon, a bit of grass and the customary tin can metal flavour from the container. Mouthfeel is oily and not too thin considering the golden-transparent look. Head died down quickly.
