does not count montanabeerman (5), Bozeman, Montana, USA Feb 26, 2006 Poured from a bottle. A special thanks to my mom. A strong, indeed nutty and piney aroma. Nice off-white head and decent lacing. The malts are toffee flavored, with a hint of butter. A little bit thin and too bitter for the style. I hoped that the malts would rise to the occation but they fall short.
IlanMan (658), Winona, Minnesota, USA May 25, 2008 Decent brew. Had aromas of roasted malt, nuts. Flavor was again very roasted, light nuts and coffee bean towards the finish finally finishing with notes of caramel. Not bad. Not special. Would not buy again. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 08/19/2007
ChainGangGuy (1810), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Aug 20, 2007 Appearance: Pours a light copper body with a thinning, off-white head.
Smell: Light, musty grain aroma with just a faintest bit of fruitiness.
Taste: A beer so devoid and bereft of any flavor that it really gives an almost neutral impression in the mouth. Just a brief glimpse of malt and fruit and then its gone.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Watery mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Seriously, there’s almost nothing there! CaptainCougar (4709), Rockville, Maryland, USA Aug 19, 2007 Pours a transparent lightly effervescent amber copper with a small, frothy coating of light tan head. Aroma of lightly toasted pale grainy maltand some mild orangey citrus hops. Body starts lightly carbonated and of decent viscosity, but not much sweetness and only a dry, earthy, grainy bitterness throughout, with a touch of some doughy character and lightly peppery hops. A pretty mediocre amber. EithCubes (1901), Indiana, USA Jun 1, 2007 Bottle. Sweet caramel and brown sugar aroma. Clear amber pour with a large, soapy beige head. Lightly roasty, sweet taste with caramel and some toffee. Medium-full body, dry roast and lightly spiced aftertaste. Crisp bite with a touch of nuttiness. Easy drinking and certainly good enough, but in essence, another by-the-numbers amber.
