3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 douglas88 (3678) - Salt Lake City, USA - JAN 2, 2011
12 ounce bottle thanks to Toby. Pours a clear ruby color with a nice thick light beige head into my New Belgium Globe Glass. A smooth caramel malt aroma, some light pine. The flavor is easygoing; light caramel, toasted malts, light berries. Enjoyable.

Aroma heavy in malts, with a hint of herbs. Very light, almost foamy palate. Quite a bit of carbonation here, which isn’t a good thing. Flavor matches the aroma.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 curly (2352) - Seattle (Newcastle), Washington, USA - MAY 15, 2010
Pours clear dark amber with a foamy beige head that recedes quickly. Aroma of nut and caramel. Taste is sweet with lots of toasty malts and does have a slight bitter burnt finish. Medium body, smooth carbonation.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Flanagans in Appleton, Wisconsin. Pours a clear light amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a thin white ring and no lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt, some floral and citrus hops and a touch of toffee. Taste is light to medium bodied, with some caramel malt and citrus hop flavors. Finish is semi-sweet with a light caramel and floral hop aftertaste.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 mbgrayson (374) - Anaconda, Montana, USA - OCT 31, 2009
Pours a deep copper with a thin tan head. Tastes of malt and lightly of caramel. Fairly long lasting taste and finish. Not the best, but still a thumbs up.

Copper with a quickly fading tan head that leaves a layer of pond scum. Aroma of light caramel, spent grain and lake water. Taste of caramel, malt and very mild hops. Thin body finishes up mildly bitter.

Sampled from bottle: Pours a muddy brown colour with a small white head. Aroma is rich and malty with noticeable caramel notes. Flavours of caramel, pecan and maple syrup. Yeah, a little bit of that sweet stuff coming throuh. Well balanced, but still a little off to me.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 JJBeerMan (5) - Burnsville, USA - JUN 17, 2009 does not count
Hmmm...good bronze color gives way to a decent foamy head. The nose is bland but does offer nutty tones and hints of spices i.e. clove. Carbonation overload, and lacking on the palate. The finish may be the best thing here. Filbert nut and caramel are very prevalent. Ok, but seems like something is missing here.

bottle my friend Ian brought back from the MidWest for me. Pours a nice deep amber color with a huge thick white head. Slightly sweet malt caramel and roasted grain aroma. Overly carbonated, but has a slight sweet malt cocoa cola like taste. Not to excited about this one.

Decent brew. Had aromas of roasted malt, nuts. Flavor was again very roasted, light nuts and coffee bean towards the finish finally finishing with notes of caramel. Not bad. Not special. Would not buy again.
