omhper (11030), Stockholm, Sweden Mar 24, 2003 Sampled draught at Humperdinks, Dallas, Texas.
Reddish amber. Intensely hoppy nose with notes af aromatic oils, flower and citrus. Not much malt there to balance it, but considering the poor malt structure of the other beers at this brewery probably it's a good thing that the pleasant hop flavours just lingers on into a long bitter finish and bypasses the (lack of) body. I quite enjoyed this beer. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: Big Red IPA
clear dark gold, wispy white head, bits of lace,
sweet caramel malt aroma with citrus hops,
lots of citrus hop flavor backed by caramel sweetness, bitterness kicks in half way through and lasts through a long finish,
fiulijn (6142), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jan 9, 2007 Draught at Humperdink’s, Dallas, as Big Red IPA
Light amber color; thin head, nice lace. Fruity hop aroma, resiny. Medium body structure, heavy hopping (with some resins, aggressive enough) but not enough malty. Good. hopdog (4950), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 9, 2006 On tap at the Broomfield, CO location. Poured a medium amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of citrus and lightly fruity. Tastes of citrus, light pine, and fruits. Lighter bitterness factor. hopscotch (4756), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 4, 2008 (Ram Restaurant and Brewery, Schaumburg, IL) Draft... DLD’08... Clear golden ale with a large, creamy, off-white head. No retention, but nice lacework. Toffee and citrus notes dominate the aroma. Medium-bodied with a ridiculously dry mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. Finishes violently bitter and sucks all moisture from my mouth. Over-attenuated, for certain. Still, an aromatic, tasty brew.
