COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed as a medium India Pale Ale, this full-flavored moderately hopped beer has the strongest hop character of our ales. Made for hopheads and new beer aficionados. The grist composition is 94% Pale malt, with the remaining grain bill consisting of carastan malts. The finishing Mt. Hood hop addition in the whirlpool gives this beer a good hop character without becoming excessively bitter. The beer is fined instead of filtered so the hop character is not stripped away.

This is not a red. Very Hop driven and flowery. Notes of soap too. Unfair for me to say since this sort of thing ainít my bag baby.

Draft. Red brown pour with tan head. Spices and light hop aromas. Light hop flavor, but drinkable.

Growler from the RAM in Wheeling, supplied by ck1 to the Mom-without-Bill tasting. Thanks bro! Has a nice aroma, fruity and pine. The taste does not following all the way. Would have another.

On tap at Ram, Tacoma. It pours an unclear, dark orange body under some off-white to light beige head leaving curtains. Lots of pine cones in the aroma, not much maltyness kicking in. Fruityness and a touch of peaches too. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Quite dry, with a nice bitterness in the flavor, both initially and in the end. Some maltyness to back it up. Certainly a nice IPA, well worth a second and third glass. 130629

Straw body with amber tint. Light caramel notes with some weak crystal and milled grain. Minimal sweetness with fruit notes. Light citrus and maybe a touch of pine. Very pedestrian but nothing offensive.

Draft at shaumburg. Aroma is mostly hops, grassy and floral. Taste is light nitter. Meh, nothing super special here. Drinkable but boring

Sampler at the Schaumburg RAM. Okay, maybe itís because Iím chatting with the friendly brewmaster, but Iím really liking this stuff. That and the fact that a sampler "Curl" is $5, no matter how many samples are on it, and I have 10! So this is a derker amber color, and still has a good layer of foam although itís been on the bar a while. Again, my nose was hampered by a cold and restroom soap, so just a general yes on the aroma. A large pine and resin hop note that swims to coat my soft palate. In other words, a hop goblin.

On tap at tulalip ram restaurant. Decent ipa with a mild balance of caramel malt and piney hops, from a hazy gold body.

Hazy orange yellow color. Not too red in appearance. Sticky white lacing. Mild lemon peel aroma. Slight earthy palate. Lingering bitter finish yet balanced. Not what I would call a red IPA but nice overall.

On tap at C.B. Potts Greenwood Village location. Pour is clear amber with a big white head and great lacing. Somewhat faint aroma - grass, caramel, bread, a touch if grapefruit peel, and earthy hops. Taste is very malty with a hoppy bite on the finish - spicy/dirty hops, light lemon, orange peel, perfume, toasted bread, and biscuit. Medium body with low carbonation. Below average IPA that could really benefit from some dry-hopping.
