COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed as a medium India Pale Ale, this full-flavored moderately hopped beer has the strongest hop character of our ales. Made for hopheads and new beer aficionados. The grist composition is 94% Pale malt, with the remaining grain bill consisting of carastan malts. The finishing Mt. Hood hop addition in the whirlpool gives this beer a good hop character without becoming excessively bitter. The beer is fined instead of filtered so the hop character is not stripped away.

Had this on draft at humperdinks in Arlington, Texas. Pours a dark amber color with a small head. This pint I had last night didnít seem as hoppy as it usually is, but most of the time it has a real nice hoppy taste with a nice fruity after taste. They actually call this one Big Red IPA at my location.

On tap in a very well-priced sampler.Pale copper color, thick white head. Hops and lime/tropical fruit on nose. Thick in mouth, hoppy bite goes to pieny, almost too much, but still good.

On-tap at Humperdinks in Arlington, TX. I thought this was a pretty damn good IPA. Not overly hoppy, in fact a little less hops than I usually expect from an IPA, but it was quite tasty nonetheless.

Sampler at the Schaumburg RAM. Okay, maybe itís because Iím chatting with the friendly brewmaster, but Iím really liking this stuff. That and the fact that a sampler "Curl" is $5, no matter how many samples are on it, and I have 10! So this is a derker amber color, and still has a good layer of foam although itís been on the bar a while. Again, my nose was hampered by a cold and restroom soap, so just a general yes on the aroma. A large pine and resin hop note that swims to coat my soft palate. In other words, a hop goblin.

On tap at Ram, Tacoma. It pours an unclear, dark orange body under some off-white to light beige head leaving curtains. Lots of pine cones in the aroma, not much maltyness kicking in. Fruityness and a touch of peaches too. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Quite dry, with a nice bitterness in the flavor, both initially and in the end. Some maltyness to back it up. Certainly a nice IPA, well worth a second and third glass. 130629

Growler from the RAM in Wheeling, supplied by ck1 to the Mom-without-Bill tasting. Thanks bro! Has a nice aroma, fruity and pine. The taste does not following all the way. Would have another.

Floral hop aroma. Oramge-amber in color. Hoppy and caramel malty taste. A real clean finish, almost like an amber ale. Notes: Pub visit during í09 GABF

Sampler at Schaumburg. Far and away the best beer I had at Ram. Big grapefruit rind hop tones. Easy drinking, with a steady classic NW hop bill. Nice to end the otherwise lackluster sampler with. Right on.
