Bottle poured a dark amber with an a small dissapating amber head. Aromas of sweet malt, carmel and a hint of molasses. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, sweet malt and some earthiness with a smooth lingering sweet finish. A very malty beer with no noticable hops.

(Ram Restaurant and Brewery, Schaumburg, IL) Draft... DLD’08... Clear amber ale with a vanishing head. Aromatic and flavorful chocolate and caramel malts with a nutty undertone. Medium-bodied, coarse, and abrasively dry with ticklish carbonation. Mojave-dry finish. Another over-attenuated beer from this brewpub. Too bad as it has loads of potential. Just throw a little residual sugar a brother’s way!

Deep amber brown. Looks like a bock. Typical malty syrup aroma and flavor, sticky and ugly. Malty, nutty and with some vanilla. Nothing worth continuing to write about.

Had at Humperdinks on Greenville. Nice lacing. Reddish brown body with some hops, chocolate and fruit in the aroma. A nice amount of malt chocolate and wood in the taste. Watery mouthfeel.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2004 From a sampler at the Indy location: This beer is a dark copper/amber color with a medium light tan head. Fair lacing. The aroma is somewhat hoppy with a pinch of nuttiness. Medium body, with a tangy hops and overly sweet malt character. The finish is a little unbalanced on the sweet side too. Although I wasn't very impressed with this one it wasn't offensive or anything.

On tap at Ram - Wheeling, IL. Poured a clear medium caramelly-amber with a dusting of white head. Nose was of caramel and sweet candy... rather week but OK. Flavor picked up semi-sweet caramel marred by unappetizing vegetal notes... mild floral bitterness and a sweet finish. Some sweetness on the palate and some bitterness... not at all memorable.
