EValP (30), Colorado, USA Nov 13, 2006 On tap at C.B & Potts Highlands Ranch. First of all, it was served in a frosty mug, second, the beer was ice cold. I was told it was the best beer they had, @%#$!# it wasn’t. I did not have my rate sheets on me but I fail to imagine why I would have even bothered to rate this beer but I still feel the need to post. This was a clear copper color. Aroma was almost non existent but maybe it is because the beer was served near freezing. Taste was a bit watery but I might have been able to make out the toasty caramel that everyone else seemed to have gotten. Really there seemed to be nothing to this beer and I was bored with it.
It got even worse past the frosty mug incident. I asked for another and the waitress opinion. She told me I should order the Hefeweizen, pronounced “heffer wisen” or the special, an Oktoberfest so I did, again, not that good and this time it came in a frosted shaker? What’s going, I thought I was in a brewpub. I returned the beer and asked for the check. I don’t think I will go back to a C.B. & Potts, at least not for the beer. Doubt I will be looking to try another of the Big Horn Brewing Companies beers anytime soon.
KUEric (578), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Sep 22, 2008 I liked this amber. It was pretty good. A nice balance, however slightly muted. Deep dark reddish brown mahogany color with a fluffy head. WabashMan (746), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Sep 3, 2008 I’m surprised how rough people have been on this beer. Sure, it wasn’t the greatest thing ever, but I found it fairly enjoyable...more so than other beers I’ve had from RAM. Flavors are lightly sweet, caramely, and malty. Highly drinkable, and really a perfect crossover beer for the BMC crowd. studke (1), , Oregon, USA does not count Aug 22, 2008 My favorite beer. A great blend that goes down smooth. The alcohol content sneaks up on you, as this beer always seems to give me a buzz faster. CanIHave4Beers (219), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Aug 19, 2008 Aroma with a little bit of hops, some sweet caramel notes as well. Beer pours a clear amber color with some head that goes away; there is not a lot of carbonation going on here. The beer is enjoyable enough, not a ton of hop flavor but really not much sweetness either. The beer presents a good dryness with flavors of caramel and a light roasted grain flavor as well. This drinks fairly easily. AndrewKScott (412), Lemont, Illinois, USA Aug 15, 2008 This is a pretty solid amber for a restaurant/brewery. It’s nothing amazing, but goes well with all the food and can stand up on its own. If none of the specials particularly blow me away on the bee list, I go for this.r
