On tap at Washington Brewers’ Fest 2009. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells and tastes like coconut, milk chocolate, and oatmeal. Medium/full bodied with a little toffee in the finish along with the coconut and chocolate. Pretty godly when tasted side by side with Diamond Knot’s coconut porter, which was sunscreen.

On cask at Washington Cask Beer Festival ’09. Pours dark brown, tan bubbly head. Aroma was strong coconut, vanilla and some roasted notes. Flavor was incredibly sweet with an awesome caramel coconut finish. Great cask carbonation. Incredibly drinkable and easily my favorite beer of the event.

Washington Brewers Festival – Kenmore, WA
Aroma: Dark malt aroma with a light lingering of coconut.
Appearance: Light brown in color, hazy with a thin head.
Flavor: This was a dry porter with a light coconut flavoring coming through.
Palate: Dry spicy finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: Nice porter I was hoping for more coconut flavoring.

On tap. Pours translucent dark brown with a lacy tan head. Coconut on top of chocolate aroma. Medium body with low carbonation. The taste is sweet coconut and chocolate. The coconut makes for an interesting flavor addition. but doesn’t solve the balance problem.
