2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 NNCRed (17) - USA - JAN 7, 2006
Dark Amber color, thin dissipating white head. Sweet, fruity aroma, although it is very faint. Some orange flavor and a light alcohol taste. Relatively weak and watery overall. Just an average attempt at the style.

Decently balanced blend of maltiness, fruit, cloves, and yeast. Sort of a moderately weighted brew with a thin finish. Nothing really stood out in this brew and certainly nothing to write home about...

BOn Tap at the Boise Ram
Deep orange amber with a thin but lasting white head. Lost of thin even lacing. Typical Belgian aroms of cloves, bananas and pale malts. Flavor was similar with the yeasty flavors as well. Medium bodied with little bitterness at the end. In general mild Belgian characteristics. Drinkable
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 oldrtybastrd (3229) - Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA - JAN 16, 2006
On Tap @ The Ram - Pours a hazy golden orange color. Aromas of spice, fruit, and yeast. Flavor was kinda bland, a little fruit, a little yeast. Alcohol didn’t seem like 7.75%. This might have been better if I hadn’t had the Whisky River Stout right before this one. I’ll have to try it again and re-rate.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BückDich (5468) - McCall, Idaho, USA - FEB 5, 2005
Quickly dissipating off-white head, some lacing, murky orange/brown color, like mud. Nose of yeast esters, banana & clove, earthy dough & fruity fig. Flavor has a green alcohol bite with the typical belgian yeast qualities. Chewy & medium bodied, highly acidic. A young beer that’s just trying to be belgian with a belgian yeast strain. A bit too tart from all the yeast still in suspension. It’s a yeast shake baby!
