UPDATED: MAR 1, 2011 Tasted on tap at the Fort Collins Horserooth location. Appearance is incredibly milky yellow. Looked way more hazy and milky than usual. Banana and cloves in the aroma. Flavor is mostly wheat, bananas, and cloves. Pretty good German Hefeweizen but the appearance was definitely off this time.

Draft @ The Ram, Boise, ID. Pours a hazy yellow color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity wheat malty banana aroma. Fruity wheaty spicy banana and clove flavor with some yeasty hints. Has a fruity wheat malty banana finish.

On tap @ C.B. & Potts, Greenwood Village, CO. Hazy straw yellow in color, fluffy white head. Smells like sugary wheat and orange citrus. Taste included those, including some subtle grassy hops and some faint banana. Some whisper of apple on the finish. Weak-to-medium bodied. Refreshing, just not outstanding.

This pours a cloudy orange w/ no head. Nice banana aroma w/ an earthy overtone. Slick mouthfeel but kind of watery as well. Earthy sort of bitterness in the finish. This isn’t a poorly put together beer but it doesn’t really have the juicy vibrancy I look for in a hefe.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy deep golden color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is heavy on the banana, some clove spiciness, lots of sweetness and a slightly candy character. Flavor starts with a lot of the same, strong banana, wheat, a nice clove note in the lightly bitter finish. Medium body and a fizzy carbonation. Not a bad hefeweizen, I was surprised after my first beer that was so so that this one would turn out pretty well.

Sampled at the Indy brewpub. A cloudy beer that has a small white ring. Cloves and banana aromas with some wheat. Flavor is pretty much the same. Some nice malt arrives late. A pleasant and sweet beer that has some decent zing in the feel.

A very enjoyable hef. Not bad on a warm summer day on the patio. Pours light and cloudy with a good 1 inch cap of thick foam. Aroma is of banana, clove, and a hint of vanilla. The light body and relatively full mouthfeel make this an easy drinking beer. Took a growler home as well and actually enjoyed it more the next day.
