A true German-style hefeweizen made with 45% malted wheat, unmalted wheat, Munich malt and 2-row barley. The yeast is a southern German style strain. The flavor profile includes clove and banana undertones. This beer is unfiltered and slightly phenolic. The hop additions are all traditional Hallertauer hops.

Being one who enjoys wheat beer this one is excellent. Nice amber color, beautiful white head and wonderful taste. The hint of banana flavor is present.

Love this beer. I get 6 packs of longnecks every few months, and visit the bar to get it at least once a week at CB And Potts.

I had this at The Ram brew/pub in Seattle. It is a most excellent hefeweizen. Very well colored, clean taste. Worth a try, I could drink it all night.

Always a pleasure to buy a growler to take home. This is good stuff, probably because I always have on draft. It has hints of banana and vanilla, very refreshing and easy going.

On tap in Schuamburg, IL. Cloudy yellow appearance - typical of a hefe. Average white head. Light banana aroma with some wheat and subtle fruitiness. Nice medium mouthfeel. Aromas come out in flavor, without overpowering you with fruit or bananas. Good finish - a solid and refreshing Hefe.

Pours a thick, murky golden/wheat color with light particulate and a white head that holds. Classic Hefeweizen aromas, big on clove/incense. Light lactose notes behind with Ovaltine malt. Bold banana flavor with pronounced smokiness in a hearty wheat base. (The smoke, at first hidden, can be detected in the nose once it is found in the flavor.) Oily clove lingers. Slightly sour to finish but thick, smooth & creamy.

In addition to <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/onion-hefe-weiss Hefe Weiss, this is one of my favorite local Hefes. It’s bold without being brash, and is bigger in character than some of the finer German beers of this style.

From first glance, that this beer is not an American style hefe is evident. Subtle aroma, but full flavored and a little on the heavy side for a hefe. The body has a slight woody component with the noticeable presence of bananas which adds a delightful component to this beer. An excellently balanced hefeweizen and one that I highly recommend.

Draft - Spokane. Light hazy golden color with a light white head. Wheat and bubblegum aromas - akin to Oberdorfer. Light wheat and malt flavors. A nice hefe.

Draft at my local brewery/restaurant, humperdinks. Real cloudy with a medium head. Smells nice, real fruity. It has the standard real smooth banana/clove flavor. Quite possibly my favorite hefe. It also seems to change a lot, from batch to batch.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2011 Tasted on tap at the Fort Collins Horserooth location. Appearance is incredibly milky yellow. Looked way more hazy and milky than usual. Banana and cloves in the aroma. Flavor is mostly wheat, bananas, and cloves. Pretty good German Hefeweizen but the appearance was definitely off this time.
