A true German-style hefeweizen made with 45% malted wheat, unmalted wheat, Munich malt and 2-row barley. The yeast is a southern German style strain. The flavor profile includes clove and banana undertones. This beer is unfiltered and slightly phenolic. The hop additions are all traditional Hallertauer hops.

Hazy straw tinge with light head and lacing. Aroma is delicate with lots of banana/clove esters and lots of yeast & bubblegum. Clean, watery mouthfeel and a light citrus zest bit. A session wheat for sure, must be drank delicately to really savor the flavors here.

Good bitter and very citrus aroma. Not overbearing in terms of sweetness, a good balance with wheat flavor. Good bright orange color (hazy). A very acceptable hefe.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2004 Actually fairly decent for an american made hefe. Pours a light cloudy yellow color with a small white head. The brew had some good spicy in the aroma with a hint of lemon. The spice came through well in the taste with a good wheaty flavor and a bit of lemon.

On tap at Ram brew pub. Cloudy light yellow hued having small white head with good lacing. Light aroma with lemony citrus fruity ester. No discernable carbonation. Light-to-medium bodied that starts with slightly sweet malt with hints of spice and fruity ester flavors and finishes dry with light bitterness. A very good drinkable hefeweizen beer.

Features the stock hefeweizen color of ruddy orange in a bit of haze. Sparks of citrus, spice, cloves, and wheat. Banana element was present, but not overbearing. The appropriate level of hoppiness made this beer very enjoyable to drink.

Gift from IrishBoy. Opaque golden hue. Aroma of banana, and sour dough bread. Sweet flavors of fruit, citrus, ripe banana! Medium bodied, which I feel to be pretty heavy for this style. I like it! Very balanced

Hazy yellow with a large frothy head. Aroma was citrus and cloves with a touch of wheat. Sweet and cloying and even a citrusy element. Nice hefe that works well.

On tap at Schaumburg location, pours a hazy yellow with virtually no head at all, the aroma has a little bit of spices and banana but not a whole lot, the flavor has a decent amount of fruit on the front end with banana flavors in the finish, decent mouthfeel, one of the better choices here so far.
