Piggy (27), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 6, 2008 Very dark blackish in color, Aroma not what I was thinking of when calling it a Java Stout. It was less in a java coffee smell but more caramel roasty chocolate, taste smokey watery bland in coffee, more caramel on the palate. Following with a slight coffee after taste
Soonah (562), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Apr 21, 2008 Poured ultra dark brown. Borderline black. Slightly viscous? The head was brown in color and there was only spotty bits of lacing. The aroma was chocolate and vanilla with plenty of roasted coffee coming through. The flavor was sweet vanilla, chocolate and then the coffee. Some spicy hops snuck in as well. Pretty good finish, better than average mouthfeel. Best of show for what I had from this place. Walt (2291), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 5, 2008 Pour is brownish black with a thin off white head...smell is lightly roasty with chocolate and some faint coffee...taste is lightly roasty with chocolate and hints of coffee in the finish...sweet and thin all the way through... agillespie81 (116), Denver, Colorado, USA Mar 2, 2008 Black in color......not completely opaque though. Creamy head, though it fades somewhat quickly. Strong aroma of coffee. Fresh coffee flavor up front, followed by a mellow malt taste. Slightly smooth mouthfeel, with a lingering coffee aftertaste. MaliMisho (208), East Meadow, New York, USA Feb 6, 2008 Had it on tap as part of the sampler that the RAM offers. This beer tasted exactly like coffee. Not a hint of coffee, or chocolate or anything else in there. If I closed my eyes I would have thought I was drinking cold coffee. The bar tender said they put caffine in it even. This beer would definitly have mixed reviews if more people rated it.
