BrideOfFrankenkitty (44), Illinois, USA Apr 9, 2006 There was no aroma to this murky amber brew. The head was small with very little lacing. It had a mild bitterness, with a malty (peaty?) flavor. There were hints of brown sugar and vinegar. The taste lingered long after the swallow.
frankenkitty (1834), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Apr 3, 2006 A creamy head doesn’t last and leaves a watery trail of lace over a weakish, copper/mahogany body. Weak, light roasted malts are all I can detect in aroma, while the flavor produces strong fruity notes... grape and raspberry, somewhat artificial yet tasty. A fruity ale with a mild, bitter kick and a buttery mouthfeel.

Note: Looks very similar to Ram’s Big Red Ale, so much so that it confused our bartender on several occasions... let the hoppy notes of Big Red be the giveaway. In my experience, the RAM staff has the annoying habit of bringing you the wrong beer. So, watch them closely and take ratings that are obviously way off base with a grain of salt.

Cornfield (4469), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Mar 7, 2006 Credits were given for the brewing of this ale to both the Wheeling and Shaumburg Ram brewpubs in Illinois. Deep brown with a minimal head, it had a rich, dark malt aroma with a dash of chocolate and a hint of smoke. The chocolate becomes more pronounced in the creamy mouthfeel, the smoke recedes, and the toffee-ish malts surge forward. A satisfying drink.

Night of the Living Ales II at Goose Island Wrigleyville, Chicago, IL 03/04/2006
