truegen (137), Puyallup, Washington, USA Sep 22, 2007 Draft at the South Hill Puyallup Ram. Outstanding representative of the style. Deep, rich amber color. Malty, mapley sweetness, with a nearly perfect touch of hops. Perhaps just a touch heavy on the palate for a fest-marzen, but I’d drink plenty more of this.
jake65 (1247), Meridian, Idaho, USA Oct 5, 2007 Draft: Pours a transparent dark amber color with a smaller head. Nice lacing. Nose is faint of malty sweetness with light hops. Tastes malty and lageresque without a strong or definitive character. Looks great (no kidding, like a "5"), but smells and tastes pretty weak and watery. Beer_Hawk (705), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Nov 19, 2006 Draft. Amber in the glass with a thin off-white head. Subdue malty aroma. The flavor found spices, caramel and was lightly toasted. Light body, dry and high carbonation on the tongue. Slight toasty aftertaste. troyc (943), A ’moist’ county, Texas, USA Oct 11, 2006 (Tap) Pours amber without much of a head. Malty and slightly nutty. Dry, bland aftertaste. Rather refreshing, but not something I could drink a lot of. IrishBoy (2129), Bakersfield, California, USA Oct 7, 2006 Draft at CB Potts, Cheyenne; Nose of hops; gold with a small white head; flavor of hops and a bit of caramel.
