Tap @ Fort Collins Harmony location. Incredibly clear, burnt orange appearance with an off white head. Crisp, moderately rich, caramel malty, straw aroma. Grassy, biscuity, creamy, caramel-toffee malty flavor. Straw, grassy, caramel aftertaste. Ok.

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 12/10/2007 Malt aroma. Golden coloured and slightly rich on the palate with some bitterness in a crisp and dry malt finish.

Draught (as Darz Octoberfest), CB & Potts, Broomfield. Head is mostly lasting. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted bread, cookie), lightly hoppy (herbs, orange), with a hint of latex paint. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Something slightly off in the (light) nose in the background that I couldn’t quite place but seemed most like latex paint. A little simple and uninteresting but ok.

Golden amber pour. Malty, nutty and toasty aromas and flavors with a touch of crispness in the finish. Pretty generic, but well crafted and not unpleasant.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2005 This is a sorry excuse for a marzen. It starts out promising with a clear orange color and a big frothy head, but there’s little of any aroma, just a hint of malt. It tastes like water was added after the brewing. Just a suggestion of nutty, caramel maltiness. There’s no finish. It’s just done with.

Pours a darker amber color with the expected brewpub amount of head and lacing. Aroma is weak, bland with slight bittering hops shining through. Flavor is lightly malty with a sweet hop touch in the finish. I agree with nuffield, this has a very bland lagerish quality to it without the creamy malts you usually find in an oktoberfest beer.
