AxeMaster221 (343), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 4, 2004 Mild malt aroma, dark amber color and a thin white head that diminished fairly fast. Very light malt sweetness, with a mellow front, and a strange flavor in the finish that I couldnt identify, but found to be somewhat cloying.
riversideAK (1954), Shoreline, Washington, USA Nov 27, 2008 Golden amber pour. Malty, nutty and toasty aromas and flavors with a touch of crispness in the finish. Pretty generic, but well crafted and not unpleasant. luttonm (164), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 30, 2008 $3 for 32oz at Seattle (U Village) Ram. Another sweet maltbomb, but closer to style. Very fresh tasting but rather unbalanced ultimately. caramel, light bitterness. after4ever (2006), Brier, Washington, USA Oct 26, 2008 Draft at the Tacoma Waterfront location. Crystal clear medium amber with bright highlights. Nice sheets of gray lace. Nutty, leafy nose. Clean, drinkable body. Nutty, crisply leafy mid-palate. Neutral finish. Not bad at all. Reid (1013), Salem, Oregon, USA Oct 5, 2008 Few pints at The Ram in Salem,OR..
Watching Oregon get done over by USC.
Nice looking clear copper coloured, small white head, quickly goes to leave wisps.
Good malt driven aroma, nice and fresh.
Caramel malts dominate the taste, smooth, with a tinge of bitterness.
Good on the palte, well balanced and very drinkable ..which seems to be the whole point of the excersize.
Overall a very good American rendition of a Oktoberfest/Marzen, quite authentic.
Once again though looking at reviews, the level of differences between the brewers at Ram locations is evident. KUEric (584), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Sep 22, 2008 Good. Good and turrable.
Mine was possibly skunky. I didn’t like it at all.
