Clear amber color/ ivory head. Nice pale malt, light fruit, dry spice aromas. Medium body. Decent, but too sweet flavors of light fruits, pale malt, spices, nice hoppy twang to finish--

On tap at Northgate RAAM. Hazy yellow colored beer with a thin lasting head. A little spicy tart wheat in the aroma. Tart dry flavors of citrus, wheat, spice with some yeasty esters in the finish. Dry finish with a moderate tartness.

Draft at the WABL 3rd anniversary party. Brewed by the Northgate Ram. Cloudy medium yellow. Slim white rim. Big sharply sweet green apple nose. Watery body. Green apple mid-palate. Slightly fruit sour finish. More like a bad wit than a bad saison...very frustrating and disappointing. Didn’t expect to try something from the Northgate Ram that was this far off the mark.

Pint - Ram Big Horn - Kent, WA
Aroma – Nice earthy floral malt aroma with a lingering of hops.
Appearance – Straw gold in color, clear, with a thin head.
Flavor – Great malt flavors with some nice spices and added floral hops to add to the flavor.
Palate – Great Mouthfeel, Good texture with a dry finish.
Overall – This was a very nice Saison beer. It is a hard beer to brew and not over power with hops and they did a great job.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café: Dark straw, somewhat hazy, large foamy white head, moderate carbonation, fairly nice lacing.   Tart floral nose, a little smidgen of straw or grass.   Soft tart grassiness on the tongue, has an airy floralness, a little musty.   Had you given me this and said it was an American brew, I would have said get outta here!   More tart/floral than bready, which I seem to find with most American examples, but not this one.   Fairly dry as well. Dave, yer doing one hell of a job over there!

Multiple samples, GABF 2006 (as South Hill Saison, made at the Puyallup, WA location). Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately yeasty (cobwebs, mold), with notes of clove, lemon, plastic, and dried apricot. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Pretty good, and from Big Horn even.

Aubrey (3191) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - DEC 15, 2002
(Westminster, CO, C.B.& Potts) Clean, fresh, yeasty nose. Moderately carbonated. Subtle spices with hints of banana and clove; big bubblegum flavors too. Finishes bitterish and a little dry. Warming alcohol sensation. Nice lace patterns. Not the best malt flavors; kind of light. Overall, extremely drinkable, but not enough "Belgian" ooomphh.
