4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 douglas88 (4458) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - JUN 10, 2009
On cask at the 2009 NABA in Idaho Falls. I’m not sure if this merits a new entry due to barrel aging. Anyway, pours a bright amber color with a large foamy white head. The aroma was awesome; a rich hop explosion, lots of citrus and fruitiness.I could definitely notice a smooth woodiness in the aroma and taste. The flavor was awesome; again, loads of citrus and fruity hops. Slightly bitter but very mellow. Excellent.

GABF 2008. Dark amber gold (darker than the ZZ Hop), passionfruit cascade aroma. Lots of tropical fruit and citrus oil hop character, sweet malt takes a back seat. Long bitter finish, refreshing.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 DickDunnigan (26) - Boise, Idaho, USA - FEB 13, 2008
Growler from Ram/Parkcenter. Hazy orange color with a big off-white head. Fragrant hop aroma. Pungent bitter flavor, in a good way. Some mild malt taste, but mostly solid hoppy notes of citrus, good blend of bittering vs. flavor/aroma hops. Dry as a bone. This is a great IPA, good balance of all parts. I can’t get enough. (Too bad they raised their price for growlers, they used to charge $5, which was a steal!!)

Draft @ Ram. Standard, standard, standard. Nothing exciting about this IPA whatsoever, except its ease of drinkability. Extremely average. Sierra Nevada-esque.

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2007 On Tap from keg at Buch Dich’s
Very hazy/cloudy medium redish amber with a sturdy thick head of light tan. Nice lasting lacing and aromas of sharp floral hops. Flavors are a strong hop slant, of course and a nice deep maly backbone. Feel is moderate and the trailer is a quite puckering bitter. Tnanks to Buck Dich for sharing this one
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 billk (352) - Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA - APR 20, 2005
UPDATED: APR 29, 2005 Tap @ Murphy’s seafood & steakhouse in Boise. Clear amber/copper w off white seafoam head that fell fairly quick, good lace. Aroma is fresh hops, piney & citrusy w a touch of reefer essence & light/med roast malt. Flavor is clean, bright, fresh. Light/med roast malt w nice, fresh spicey hops. Into medium bodied w nice bitterness from start to finish. Nicely balanced. Not lacking complexity. There was a slight thin/watery on the mouthfeel but its fresh, clean flavor compensated. I could have inhaled a bucket of this.

Pours a deep amber with a good tightly knit head and some nice lacing. Aroma of crystal malts and cascade hops. A very clean pallate and a very hoppy flavor. Bitterness creeps up on you and is very pleasant. A well made IPA.
