Sweet, caramel, bocky-prune aroma. Deep red-brown with a thin spongy head. Sweet, raisiny, underhopped and under-carbonated. Sugary finish. Rosemont, IL.

On tap at the Ram/Big Horn Brewery in Rosemonth, IL as "Morton’s Big Horn Tawny Ale." Pours a coppery red amber brew with a thick creamy off white head that sticks around for a while. Nice lacing. Aroma of toasted caramel barley malt, some sweet raisins and a touch of bourbon. Taste is medium bodied, sweet, little carbonation and a clean sweet aftertaste. The finish is clean and does not have much bitter aftertaste that is even noticable.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2007 On tap at Ram - Wheeling, IL as "Morton’s Tawny Ale". Poured translucent amber with pretty much nothing going on head-wise.. looked still. Aroma was of slightly toasty caramel paired with some sort of veggie mash.. rather ugly blend with no redeeming qualities. Flavor was unfortunately similar... semi-sweet with an ugly blend of caramel and veggies.. just a hair better than the nose. Light-bodied and flat on the palate. Just a bad one all-around.
