Soonah (449), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Apr 21, 2008 Poured dark brown with lighter highlights. The head was off-white to tan, thin and provided some lacing. The aroma was lots of smoke and roasted malt. Very light sweetness as well. The flavor is smoke and light chocolate with roasted malt. The mouthfeel was fine. One of the better beers I had at this place.
jcr (793), Jasper, Indiana, USA May 19, 2008 Ram Restaurant and Brewery at Indianapolis. Draft. Dark brown body with short, tan head. Served too cold for a porter. The aroma (after it warmed) presented notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate and nuts. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter, but finishes dry and moderately bitter, almost tart. Light to medium body and a watery texture. Average carbonation. An enjoyable porter, but nothing to propel it to memorable status. BenDover (81), Ohio, USA May 8, 2008 Had this at the brewpub in Littleton CO on 06-May-2008. Nice dark color, bit of tan head. No discernable odor whatsoever. Taste was very sour and acerbic. Nasty stuff. Could be a bad batch or some that was way past its sell-by date, but if this is how it always tastes, I would NOT recommend this beer to anyone. hopscotch (4358), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 5, 2008 (Ram Restaurant and Brewery, Schaumburg, IL) Draft... DLD’08... Black with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. Mocha (milk chocolate and coffee) aroma. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with modest carbonation. Crisp, chocolaty, moderately bitter and lightly sweet. Finishes bone-dry. riversideAK (1427), Shoreline, Washington, USA Apr 15, 2008 Looks like dark muddy pond water. Smells of roast, light smoke, chocolate, and earth. Tastes of roast, light smoke, chocolate, and earth. All with a moderate bitter finish. A decent porter.
