Commercial Description:
This is the silver medal winner in the Brown Porter division of the 1996 Great American Beer Festival. The mash temperature is higher to produce body and mouth feel. The 2-row barley base, in addition to a combination of chocolate and carastan malts, gives this beer a smooth, round character with chocolate undertones. Many people who normally don't drink dark beers will drink this beer.

Arlington Location- A good creamyfull bodied porter, if you like dry porters, this one isn’t for you. It has a nice dark brown color with a dark tan bubbly head. Aroma is sweet and roasted with strong rosasted malt flavors. This one is a nice treat after a long day.

Pours dark brown-black with a light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt but not as strong or intense as some of the better porters. Flavor is roasted malt with a hint of coffee. Mouthfeel is medium to light, a little more watery than I like in a porter.

Tap. Dark pour with a tan head. Mild coffee and chocolate on the nose, thin body, mild roasty flavor. Decent, but kind of boring.

On tap at Humperdinks in Dallas, TX (NW Hwy). Best beer of the night, but thats not saying a whole lot. The look is brown to black with an ok tan head. The smell is coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts. The taste is the same.

Had on tap at the Indianapolis Ram. Chocolate and coffee notes, but like they’re mixed with water. Good flavor, just not enough of it.
