Oakes (6790), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 22, 2007 Golden colour. Toasted apples and lots of alcohol. Very sweet flavour...lots of pear, some apple and no shortage of icing sugar. Very late alcohol makes itself apparent. Overall, yet another in a long line of cloying American Belgian strongs...guys, I like your brewery (one of the most underrated in the PNW) but Duvel and Moinette don’t taste like this. slapknot (8), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA does not count Jul 19, 2007 After climbing atop the Big Horse hill on a hot July afternoon, one would want very much to find a cold, smooth beer. If indeed their saison is on tap, you will be rewarded!
Over the clear golden glass hangs a fruity aroma, like lychee fruit and banana. The light bodied beverage quickly washes through the mouth, making the beer easy to take. A pale malt beer attenuated well to only leave hints of sweetness, and candi sugar is suggested by the slight heat from the swallow; clove and ginger come to mind, but no hot- spice. A potent saison at 9%.
WOW.
