The flavor is smoky and sweet, very caramelly and sweet, balanced mouthfeel, moderate body, very nice smoke. Level, clean, thick and drinkable. Very nice with a hoppy tail. 11026 (1886), USA Aug 1, 2005 Tap. Deep ruddy brown with a nice off-white head. Very clear. Good lacing left. Caramel, a touch of smoke generalized medium roasted grains. Medium bodied, quite smooth. Hits the mark with the malt being predominant and just the smallest hints of hop bitterness. LIghtly noticeable smoke, caramel and some chocolate in flavor. Well done. BuckeyeBoy (1259), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 25, 2007 On Tap at the Brewpub pours out a clear amber topped with a cream head. A nice little sweetness on the malt. verty tasty. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 20, 2004 Dark brown, off white head and some lacing. Sweet malts, caramel, small roast and slight earthy hops. Sweet malts in the flavor with some fruits. Bitter hops with some spices. Finishe with a warming alcohol.
DA (2641), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Nov 25, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Pours dark amber wtih a smooth white head. Long caramel malt flavor, fruity and woody. Great balance and smooth palate. One of the best beers they were serving.
