Had this on tap at the Big Horse Brewery in Hood River, OR. Colour... black with a thin tan edge. Nose... sweet, malty, faintly boozy. Palate.. slightly thin mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, slight hop bite up front, some coffee, booze, roasty malt, dark chocolate and a medium finish.

Strong dark malt and coffee aromas. Lots of alcohol in the flavor this was a big black beer. Good flavors this was so thick with dark malts and hops. Big time beer this was.

Tap at brewery. Deep brown to black colored with a smallish, fast fading tan head. Smattering of lacing. Aroma is choco-bourbon. Nice roasty malt presence with some vanillins and bourbon. Medium to full bodied, softer pleasing carbonation. Taste is of chocolate, light bourbon, coffee and hints of smoke. Really rather pleasant, not overdone with the wood or bourbon. Pretty tasty.
